Advanced Excel & AI-Powered Excel
Excel remains the most widely used analytical tool in Indian business, and most graduates use perhaps five per cent of it. This course takes a student from formulas to modelling, automation and AI-assisted analysis — the single highest-return skill for a commerce or management graduate, and still the tool most first jobs are actually done in.

How this is shaped for your students
Spreadsheet ability varies more inside a single classroom than almost any other skill we teach, so we start by finding out where the group actually is. We take account of the degree and year, current confidence with formulas and data, cohort size, the roles students are aiming at, the employers hiring in your region, whether students are open to relocating, the hours available and where this sits in your placement calendar. The programme is then set at a level that neither bores the capable students nor loses the rest.

Three levels, one continuous path
Foundation
You start from working vocabulary and first-hand contact with the tools. If you have never opened them before, you can start here. The work is guided, and you are assessed on knowing the material and applying it simply.
Applied
You turn knowledge into a way of working. You are given a brief with real constraints and incomplete information, you make decisions, and you explain why you made them. This is the level at which most students become useful on an internship.
Advanced
You handle the messy version: conflicting requirements, scale, cost, things going wrong, other people’s opinions, and knowing when not to do the obvious thing. The work is portfolio quality and you have to defend it.
Work you can show an employer
1Foundation
clean and analyse a messy 5,000-row dataset and produce a summary with PivotTables.
Capstone
Operating Model for a Small Business. A complete workbook — data intake, cleaning pipeline, model, dashboard and documentation — built for a real or clearly simulated business, handed to a non-technical user who must be able to run it, with a written user guide.
Tools you will use

- Microsoft Excel (Microsoft 365)
- Power Query
- PivotTables
Recommended
- Copilot in Excel
- Google Sheets
- Power Pivot
Advanced
